DEATHS:

Obituary - After an illness of several weeks Mr. Jabez Barraclough died peacefully at his home in this city, surrounded by his family and friends, on Sunday evening, September 27th, 1885, at 9:30 o’clock. Mr. Barraclough was born in Halifax, England, removed to this country and has been a resident since 1881. He removed to McCook about two years ago, and during his residence here has been a machinist in the railroad shops. About four weeks ago he was taken down with typhoid fever, a disease which in its worst stages is hard to evade. Nursed by a faithful wife, and having the best medical attendance, all that was possible was done, to check the clinging fever and alleviate the sufferings of the patient. Mr. Barraclough was a good citizen, a loving father and husband, and commanded the respect of the entire community in which he lived. His widow and children have the sincere sympathies of the people of McCook in their bereavement. Saturday 3 October 1885
